Bishop Steve Smith serves as the Administrative Bishop for the New York Church of God. He is a son of the parsonage and a second generation Church of God minister. From early childhood, it was evident that the call and the hands of God was upon his life. At about age 12, he led his first soul to Christ on the way home from school while still living in the beautiful island of Jamaica. Bishop Smith has served the church in various capacities; Administrative Bishop for the New Jersey Church of God for four years, New York Church of God State Youth and Discipleship Director for eight years, Assistant Pastor, Youth Pastor, District Youth and Christian Education Director and Chairman of the Northeast Winterfest Committee. He also served on the International Youth & Christian Education Board, as well as, the Church of God Discipleship Board. Bishop Smith has a Masters Degree in Church Ministries from the Church of God Theological Seminary. He has also served honorably in the USA Armed Forces; his decorations include the Army Good Conduct Medal and various achievement awards. In November 2011, he ran and successfully completed the New York Marathon (26.3 miles) as an evangelistic outreach tool. He is married to the beautiful Karen Smith and the Lord has blessed their marriage with two children, Sarah and Johnathan.
